We have been developing, producing and selling handbags and accessories as a family business in the 4th generation since 1921 in the leather town of Offenbach am Main.

History

1921

Founded by August Graf and Peter Reising as a leather goods manufactory in Bieber/Offenbach, Germany

1973

After the marriage of the owner families: Merger with Wilhelm Joh. Meier GmbH

1983

Early overseas production in Italy, Thailand and China

1984

First production of synthetic bags in China, the Maestro own brand is brought to life

2001

Sven Meier joins the company in the 4th generation

2008

Supplementation of the own Maestro brand with the Funbag and Sunny licenses for production and sales

2014

Launch of the collection developing and building up sales for the SURI FREY brand

2015

Introduction of the own brands Emily & Noah and Sina Jo

2018

Foundation of Meier Hong Kong Ltd. and opening of our own office in China for development and QC

2019

Start of cooperation with Wortmann for the TAMARIS shoe brand as a license partner for bags and wallets

2020

Over 2 million bags sold with distribution in over 20 countries

We can only be well and we can only be successful with our products if we take responsibility everywhere. This is the only way we can remain successful in the market and create the basis for the 5th generation.

As a family company, we are aware of our responsibility that goes hand in hand with production abroad. We and our partners attach great importance to the fact that our production facilities are at least BSCI certified and that REACH conformity is the absolute minimum when it comes to the selection of materials.
